This painting is very well done would be an understatement for this nice piece that I am viewing here. The mixed media has given this image a nice soft but crisp look to it that one may have trouble attaining with just one single medium.
First thing I wanna say that I love about the picture is the color usage. The colors used have given off a very nice comforting and cool atmosphere. The cool colors of the background compliment the colors of the wolf quite nicely as if appearing on a nice sunny winter day and even the shadows too are incorporated with the background. The color blending in the fur is also very well blended too leading to nice soft transitional to each different tone on the wolf and it makes the fur look very realistic.
Next thing I want to say is how the wolf is very well drawn. There are no hard visible outlines marking out the wolf but there is enough to show where everything is with a crisp clarity even the roll in the tongue has a nice outline that's not too harsh but gives the idea it is folded. Even the lightest parts of the subject still retain a consistent soft outline to them.
Now for anything to pick out of this is very challenging but what I could see for improvement was to add shadows in the fur inside the ears to give them a bit more definition or even add some darker streaks in them to give some appearance as individual hairs in the mass, the other thing is that the canine teeth could use a hint of shadow to give the tooth a more rounded appearance and perhaps if possible some hinting shadows on the smaller teeth as well.
But Despite that this is a very well done piece, keep up the great work!
